Growing up on the family farm, she enjoyed helping her mother with her five younger brothers. During high school, Florence participated in orchestra, pep band and choir, several clubs and was editor of the school paper for two years. Then in a flash of light on Independence Day, she was set free. Music was an integral part of the Sheridan family life. From there she moved back to Arizona and worked as a medical support staff member and Initial Loss Reporting (ILR) claims associate for State Farm Insurance. After her father died, her mother remarried, expanding her sibling count from seven to 16. Sister Kathleen taught elementary and junior high school from 1950 to 1963 at schools in Wausau, Superior, Mosinee, Platteville and Lima (Wisconsin), Guttenberg (Iowa) and Spokane, Washington. Over the years, Sister Rosile served on the board of directors for several health care institutions, including St. Francis Hospital, St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa and St. Joseph Hospital in Hillsboro, Wisconsin. Sister Ladonna made her home at St. Rose Convent in 2016. In 1975, Sister Kathleen earned a second masters degree, this one in theology from Notre Dame University. She had a hunger for knowledge.
